NV Play's Video Analysis captures industry-standard high-performance data, including bowling type, pitch maps, and beehive visualisations. With Video Analysis PRO, you can also analyse shot type, fielding events, and a wide range of additional performance indicators.
Yes. The Pitchside Analytics app lets you capture fielding events, positions, and runs saved or cost, all synced into High Performance Analysis. You can also record this in NV Play for Windows, though the tablet offers the advantage of letting coaches roam the boundary and code live.
Sure can. Teams can share curated video packages or playlists with players via NV Play’s export options, making it easy to deliver feedback and training content. Players can also access the online tools themselves for self-review, helping them track progress and reinforce learning.
Absolutely. NV Play allows real-time analysis, so coaches and analysts can access data and video as the match unfolds. This helps inform tactical decisions, scouting, and opposition planning.
Yes. NV Play’s Multi-Match Stats Wizard enables deep analysis across matches and seasons, helping you reveal trends and compare players over extended periods, competitions or formats. You can opt for 3-Match Stats Wizard, or level-up to the 100-Match Stats Wizard to analyse data across up to 100 matches.
NV Play includes a suite of features designed to improve accuracy, speed, and confidence for scorers at any level. These include Auto-Correct, Scoring Assists, End-of-Over Checks, Real-Time Validation, and Post-Match Editing tools.
Auto-Correct activates when a user edits a ball and prompts whether to update all subsequent balls automatically. This makes sure that striker/non-striker details, batter runs, bowler statistics, and all related data stays accurate – saving time and minimising errors whenever an edit affects subsequent balls.
End-of-Over Checks prompt scorers at the end of each over to verify key details, including ball counts, runs, wickets, bowler assignments, and overs bowled. Any errors can quickly and easily be corrected via Edit Mode and Auto-Correct, then you can go back to the End-of-Over Check to confirm all changes. These checks help reduce errors and keep match data accurate.
Scoring Assists are prompts that help scorers manage key events and maintain accuracy, like:
- End-of-Over prompt
- Bowler has reached maximum overs
- Partnership has reached maximum overs (Pairs Cricket)
- New ball due
These assists improve efficiency and reduce errors by highlighting important match events.
Yes. While there isn’t a boundary countback feature, NV Play supports an unlimited number of Super Overs (just in case it ever turns out a single Super Over isn't enough).
Yes. NV Play supports a wide range of cricket formats, including limited overs, Pairs Cricket, Last Man Stands, sight classification categories (B1, B2, B3), junior and recreational cricket, indoor cricket and traditional red-ball cricket. All match rules can be customised to suit your competition or style of play.
To run Vision AI you’ll need two stable, high-quality cameras. For the best results:
- Place a stationary camera at each end (positioned behind the bowler)
- Mount each camera at 10m or higher for clear visibility over the umpire
- Ideally angle the camera between 0° and 8° off-centre
- 1080p video at 25fps or 50fps progressive scan
- Zoom in so that only one pitch length either side of the wickets is visible
- Set the camera for the best contrast, sharpness, exposure, and shutter speed for the ultimate tracking accuracy.
If you need a hand, NV Play also provides a Setup Assistant to help check your camera quality and configuration.
Vision AI will still attempt detections, but it might not be as accurate. The Setup Assistant will highlight issues like low height, poor zoom, or unstable footage, so you can make any changes needed to improve your results.
Vision AI offers up some of the deepest insights in the game. Including:
- Ball tracking and trajectory visualisations
- Pitch map graphics, showing line and length zones
- Bowler release measurements
- Pitch map measurements
- Ball arrival measurements
- Keeper up/back detection
- Bowler over/around-wicket detection
- Feet movement
- Wide on crease events
- Appeal events
- Automatically generated ball clips
It does both. Vision AI can run in real time during a match, or process recorded video after play. For live mode you’ll need the right hardware and stable video input.
Vision AI automates most coding tasks, but some events might be flagged with low confidence. These can then be reviewed or corrected by the scorer or analyst if needed. You can also add to the Vision AI coding with your own coding.
Yes, we offer done-for-you remote coding and cricket analysis. To find out more about NV Play match packs, email match.coding@nvplay.com
Vision AI is designed to work from one fixed, bowler-end camera at a time – so yes, you can. But for full coverage of both ends, you’ll need two cameras.
